Our-Story
Seed to Fork

Already Spaghetti is uniquely positioned as a seed-to-market producer that controls every aspect of the production process, from controlled and strategic planting and perfectly timed harvest to our propriety production process. The harvest itself is uniquely responsible in that it is designed to utilize parts of the crop that have previously been overlooked.

The co-founders found that at times, over 50% of spaghetti squash gets wasted due to cosmetic scarring which makes it undesirable to retailers. We partnered with a fourth-generation farmer to provide true traceability from the farm to your table – making Already Spaghetti a safe choice and delicious for you and your family.

The combination of using upcycled produce while providing a diet-friendly and convenient, healthy product, makes it easy for you to feel good about you feeding your body and soul.

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDERS

Like many others, as we’ve grown a little older, we’ve realized that our diets needed some attention and that a more health-focused diet would benefit our family’s health. So – as passionate foodies – we started looking for ways to add vegetables and cut carbohydrates without sacrificing flavor.  Spaghetti squash is one of those vegetables that does not get the attention it deserves. This low-carb substitute for pasta, rice, and potatoes has a delicate flavor that blends well with all cuisines. While adding it into our diet, we experienced the preparation challenges that come along with spaghetti squash – it is hard to cut, takes 30+ minutes to prepare, and feels a bit wasteful since over 50% of the weight is discarded from the skin and seeds.

Peter Mead has been in agriculture for several years and noticed the food waste created by strict retailer standards for perfect produce. Spaghetti squash is high on this list with softer skin that gets damaged in the field and in transit to retailers.

Jammie Underhill is a fourth-generation family farmer growing produce using the newest technology and focused on efficient sustainability. Having full traceability from seed to table is what he does for his family – and wants to share that with yours.

Donya Litowitz is a super foodie and loves to cook, create recipes, and delight friends and family with her delicious and innovative creations.

Together these three have created Already Spaghetti – a ready-to-eat spaghetti squash for the health-conscious consumer with a busy lifestyle (basically – US!)

The preparation options for this fantastic food are endless. We can’t wait for you to try Already Spaghetti too. From our kitchen to yours...
